Hochmeisterplatz in Berlin-Halensee

Bezirksamt Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf

There are about 600,000 children and adolescents living in the German capital, for whom Berlin offers about 1,850 public playgrounds. With warmer summers and rising temperatures, planting trees in the city is becoming more and more essential to shield the playing children from overheating and UV radiation.

With our donation of 13,302.88 euros to the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office, five young willows have now been planted on the once treeless playground at Hochmeisterplatz, near Kurfürstendamm.

A specialised company carried out the planting and is responsible for three years' care of the trees. This provides the best conditions for the young plants to develop healthily.

The growing trees provide valuable shade for the families and contribute to cooling the city. In addition, they remove dust particles and pollutants from the air and produce oxygen. By doing so, they increase the overall quality of air and life.
