From 5 to 7 July, we visited the Gadow family at their Wiesenhof farm in Wakendorf. An agroforestry system was established on the Wiesenhof in winter 2023 with the help of foundation funds. We were therefore very excited to see what awaited us there.

Great weekend with the team from the Daniel Schlegel Environmental Foundation at the non-profit Wiesenhof – one of the farms we are supporting in planting an agroforestry system. We tasted the berries from blueberry bushes that were planted last autumn along with many different trees on 6.5 hectares of organic land. All of this was planned with the expert knowledge of Triebwerk.

This time together as a team with our families and with the Gadow family gave us the unique opportunity to see agroforestry as part of a transformative agriculture that works holistically and regeneratively in the interests of nature and the animals.

There is also an educational initiative on the farm that creatively and inclusively creates connections between people, animals and nature on the farm as a place of learning. A multi-professional team and volunteers organise guided tours of the farm and educational events on the topics of climate protection, sustainability and social work.
