High-profile participants from politics and a cheerful mood in sunny weather – 60,000 environmental enthusiasts visited Europe’s largest ecological festival mile and were able to marvel at creative ideas and visionary products. Under the motto “Water – Elixir of Life!”, about 200 exhibitors found their way to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on Sunday, 22.06.2022. With this, GRÃœNE LIGA Berlin e.V. continued its tradition after two years of the pandemic, called for active environmental protection, and encouraged direct participation and action through the fantastic offerings. On stage, Federal Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection Steffi Lemke and Federal Minister of Agriculture Cem Özdemir spoke on the topic “Drought, emissions, soil degradation – solutions for a sustainable agriculture”.

The Daniel Schlegel Umweltstiftung participated as an exhibitor at the event. We spent the entire day talking with interested individuals, informing them about the foundation’s commitment and individual projects. We also brought along exciting games. On the back wall of our stand, we mounted a large banner with a forest motif, in which various forest animals were hidden. Moreover, visitors could blindly feel different natural materials such as bark, stone, pine cones, or chestnuts in a small box. As a reward, there were stickers from the foundation or small spice bags with Alpine herbal salt. In small tours, we were also able to speak with other environmental activists and examine their great stands – a successful day dedicated to nature and environmental protection.
